With Wisdom | "Hunkering Down Time" (by Minister Mary Edwards) Read Psalm 91 in its entirety. Some of you may know that I'm a "news junkie." CNN World News stays on my television all day long. I encourage you to also stay tuned. Around the world, the earth is crumbling underneath people, houses, cars, etc., etc. Folks are running for cover, leaving everything behind. I heard this morning that a man in Oklahoma and his family had their lives spared because they "hunkered down"in a closet! After being blown 70 feet from their home, they were safe. This reminded me of Psa. 91 and how God's dwelling place, His "secret place," is a refuge and a fortress. Saints, it's time to "hunker down" in our prayer closets. Everything that can be shaken is being shaken. Don't you be soon shaken. "Hunker down" = To settle in for a sustained period of time. Sustain means to "hold up under," "endure." "Jesus answered and said unto them, Verify I say unto you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done." Matthew 21:21 |
